Les faibles disponibilit\u00e9s des ressources alimentaires propres \u00e0 l’habitat que fr\u00e9quente le Yack sauvage le contraint \u00e0 parcourir de longues distances pour se nourrir, allant jusqu’\u00e0 6000m d’altitude. La chasse abusive de cet ongul\u00e9 se voit comme la principale cause ayant engendr\u00e9 la diminution des effectifs et la classification en esp\u00e8ce menac\u00e9e par la Convention de Washington de la forme sauvage (2000 individus sauvages pour 12 millions domestiqu\u00e9s).<\/p>\n

Il est originaire des prairies et des steppes alpines et d\u00e9sertiques d’Asie.<\/p>\n
